Ingredients:

 

First, you need to know that this snack requires only 5 main ingredients plus two optional add-ingredients, and all of them are natural.

  •  ¼  cup of nut butter such as (almond butter or cashew butter or peanut butter)
  •  1 cup of nuts such as (almonds or peanuts or cashews or hazelnuts)
  •  2 cups of rolled oats
  •  1/2 cup honey
  •  1 cup packed dates it can be pitted or medjool
  •  ½ cup of any of those extras such as “chocolate chips, dried fruit like cranberries, raisins, apricots, coconut” (Optional)
  •  ½ teaspoon vanilla or cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice mix or some salt (Optional)

 

Directions for making Granola Bars:

 

1-   You need to toast the oats and nuts first, so you have to preheat your oven to 350 F (180C)

2-   Spread the oats and coconut across a baking sheet

3-   Toasting the oats and nuts will take almost 15 minutes, and you will know that they are ready when they are golden and fragrant

4-   Transfer The oats and nuts to a large mixing bowl

5-   Warm honey, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and salt in low heat and put them all at a small saucepan

6-   Cook them all and stir until they are smooth

7-   If you have chocolate chips or anything else melty and you want to add them to the bars, you need to let the mixture cool before adding them then mix them well (optional)

8-   Pour the honey mixture over the oats and coconut

9-   Stir them to coat and then spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish

10- If you want crunchy granola bars, you need to bake them in the oven for about 15 minutes

11- Be sure that they are completely cool before cutting

12-  It is better to use a sharp knife to slice them up into bar shapes
